Happy New Year

  • Jan. 4th, 2008 at 9:44 AM

Happy New Year everyone.
It is the most glorious weather here, hot ,sunny and not humid at all, which for Whangarei is amazing.
We have been slacking at the shop a little, opening late and closing early, and the last couple of days have taken to going outside at home with a couple of foam mattresses and lying under Oaklet, our baby oak tree.We planted it when it was about 1 foot high, and now it would stand about 18 feet.We are very proud parents. The acorns we collected from our South Island trip about 6 years ago,(our last holiday) are now between one and three feet high, and we can actually start to see the formation of the new drive.
Tom,Nick and Rachel were up on New Years day. They worked so hard on the property.I think this was the best christmas present they have ever given their father.
I'm not sure how I am going to do it but this year I'm going to not get depresseed,I'm not going to let Tim get me down, and starting today ,(I hope) I am going to start gardening again.Santa gave me a neat book on homegrown foods and it has really inspired me again. This is the first time in 6 or 7 years I have actually wanted to get out and do something
Quite busy in the shop at the moment. Our first trading day for the new year we were up on last year,so lets hope it continues.
